Course policies and etiquette
At Broadmoor Public Golf Course, we strive to provide a welcoming, safe and enjoyable environment for all players. Whether you're a seasoned golfer or new to the game, following a few simple rules and etiquette ensures that everyone has a great experience.
Please take a moment to review the guidelines below before your next round.
General course etiquette and rules
To maintain pace of play, course quality, and respect for all golfers and staff, please follow these standards:
- All players must check in at the Pro Shop and report to the Starter at tee-off.
- Each player must have their own set of clubs. Rentals are available at the Pro Shop.
- Recommended dress code: soft-spiked golf shoes or similar footwear; no tank tops, jeans or cut-offs.
- Maintain a consistent pace of play – keep up with the group ahead.
- Yield to maintenance staff when required to ensure safety and optimal playing conditions.
- Alcohol must be purchased from the Clubhouse or beverage cart. No off-site alcohol is permitted.
- Washroom facilities are located near hole #4 and hole #13 – please respect our neighbours by using only these designated washrooms.
- Keep bags and pull carts off all tees and greens; always use designated cart paths.
- Help care for the course: rake bunkers, repair ball marks on greens, and replace divots.
Rain check policy
Rain checks are issued only in the event of lightning or unplayable course conditions, as determined by management.
- A signal (air horn) will notify golfers to suspend play – please return immediately to the Clubhouse or Pro Shop.
- A pro-rated credit will be added to your account based on the number of holes remaining.
- No cash refunds will be issued.
Power cart policy
To ensure safe and responsible use of power carts:
- Operators must be age 18+ with a valid driver's license.
- A rental agreement must be signed at the Pro Shop.
- Limit of two people and two golf bags per cart.
- All riders must have paid the cart fee.
- Follow all posted signage and staff instructions.
- Keep carts on paths between holes and 10 metres away from greens and tees, unless on the cart path.
- Apply the emergency brake when parked.
- Carts must always stay within course property.
- Violating any cart rules may result in loss of cart privileges without a refund.
Accessibility flag policy
Golfers with accessibility needs may request a special accessibiility flag at the Pro Shop. A valid government-issued placard for a persons with disabilities is required.
- Flags are for registered individuals only.
- Groups with more than one flagged golfer must ride together.
- Only flags issued by Broadmoor Public Golf Course are valid.
- Flagged carts may enter restricted areas, but may not park on tees, greens or approaches.
- Carts must remain on rough or fairway, at least 20 feet from any green.
- Avoid slopes, trees, wet areas and ground under repair.
- Use marked fairway exits to travel between holes – no shortcuts.
Liability notice
By playing at Broadmoor Public Golf Course, all golfers agree to the following:
- Strathcona County and Broadmoor Public Golf Course are not responsible for injury, personal damage or equipment loss.
- Golfers are personally liable for damage caused to homes, vehicles or other property during play.
- Golfers assume responsibility for any loss or damage to equipment left/stored at the golf course.
- Golf involves inherent risks, and all participants accept those risks by choosing to play.
